With Tripoli under siege, as the conflict in Libya escalates, oil prices rise ever higher. The conflict between the militias of General Khalifa Haftar and the forces of Prime Minister Fayez al-Serraj supported by the international community, has led to the suspension of much of the country’s crude oil production. This increases the risk that Libya, one of the main countries within the OPEC cartel producing crude oil, may fail to guarantee a continued supply.
